The report from the Sky Sports further claims that the player transfer news and his potential lucrative deal will be much ‘clearer’ over the course of a fortnight, with it stating the English club could make the player one of the highest-paid goalkeepers in Europe. With the negotiations said to have been going on for some weeks now, the club s looking to tie down the young goalkeeper to a contract of five years.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper rose to prominence in his two campaigns spent with Sheffield United, after helping them in the Championship promotion, he displayed his talents this 2019/20 campaign in the Premier League.

The report from Sky Sports lets us understand that the United Chief Executive Ed Woodward is ready to let Henderson’s contract offer be discussed in the budget talks with the owners during the week. With David de Gea putting up some questionable performances this season, talks of pushing Henderson to become the club’s number one goalkeeper has been considered between both fans and pundits. With the report hinting that the United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might just letting the 23-year-old battle for a first-team shirt next campaign.

Having helped the club finish ninth position on the English Top Flight table, Sheffield United, unsurprisingly as reports states, might reach out to the Manchester United again for a possible loan for Henderson for the next campaign, but unlike two years ago, the Blades will be facing competition this summer.

Manchester United rival, Chelsea have been reported to have set their sights on Henderson, with the London giant maintaining a safe distance but will be ready at first flight to swoop the goalkeeper if the Red Devils failed to reach an agreement for him.

The Blues goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been in a poor form this season failing to be consistent in his form, and this has greatly caused displeasure to Frank Lampard, who is currently in the market searching a potential replacement for the Spanish goalkeeper.

United, who have plans to groom Henderson to be a first-rate goalkeeper in their first team, are offering new terms to the goalkeeper, who clearly still have two years left on his current contract, to show their sincerity in making him their number one goalkeeper in the future.

Henderson received his first call-up to England’s national team, senior squad, in the last international break and while he might look destined to make his debut, the world-wide Coronavirus pandemic didn’t allow as international football was put on hold. But it’s only a matter of time before the 23-year-old goalkeeper makes his full senior team debut for his national side.

In other player transfer news, Manchester United legend Gary Pallister has urged his club to sign AFC Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake this summer as he could potentially improve their team defense for the upcoming season.
