Soccer – Serie A Title Race Far From Over

After stopping for several months, the Serie A resumption couldn’t be any better for the current titleholders, Juventus. The Italian champions won their first match after the resumption, giving them an edge over their rivals, Lazio – currently sitting in second place.

As Italian champions extended their lead over Lazio with four points, most Serie A fans expected the Turin side to ride off in the distance as they’ve done in the previous season. However, Lazio fans believe that the title race is still far from being over, despite losing their opening match to Atlanta on Wednesday, 24th June. Fortunately, the two teams offer enough opportunities to place wagers on Betway88 and have fun.

According to Coach Simone Inzaghi, while the defeat by Atalanta complicates Lazio’s road to the title, it doesn’t exclude them from claiming. Lazio hadn’t lost to any opponent in the last 21 games, but Atalanta proved to be one of their worst opponents this season. Nonetheless, Coach Inzaghi believes that his men will recover and get their back, despite being quite unlucky with their fixtures.

Looking at their upcoming fixtures, Inzaghi’s gloom might seem justified considering that Juventus took a 4-0 home win against relegation-threatened Lecce on Friday. The win gave Juventus a seven-point head start over Lazio ahead of their game with Fiorentina on Saturday. On the other hand, Inter Milan is standing four points behind Lazio, after drawing on their midweek fixture against Sassuolo.

Currently, Antonio Conte’s men are working hard to consolidate the third position in their upcoming fixtures, considering that Atalanta is sitting only four points behind them. Last weekend, Atalanta proved to Betway88 punters that they have what it takes to challenge Milan for the third position, after beating Udinese 2-3 in an away game.

Atalanta has had an incredible form this season, recording 77 league goals. That’s 21 more goals than Juventus, with 14 of them being from their last three games. According to Coach Gian Piero Gasperini, victories like the one against Lazio are significant for the team. Atalanta showed a lot of heart during this game, considering that they were going against a team fighting for the Scudetto.

According to Gian Piero, his team is focusing on returning to the champions league come next season. Gian Piero’s men are in a great position, though nothing is sealed yet. Even worse, the games have become quite complicated for the players, considering that they’re playing after every three days with no fans or time to relax and celebrate.

Following Juve’s win last Friday, getting their ninth consecutive title win this season seems almost inevitable for the Italian champions. However, there are still plenty of chances for the Italian champions to sleep up, considering that they must face Lazio, Atalanta, Torino, and Roma.

This season, Juventus has already lost twice to Lazio, held by Milan, and always have a hard time going against Atalanta. The Italian jersey isn’t as ruthless as they used to be under the management of coach Massimiliano Allegri, a time when they tended to grind out results without having to dominate the games. Nonetheless, their games have become more exciting to watch since Maurizio Sari took over.
